Songprayer

Songprayer
night of wind and star,
moon of satin ripples,
eyes of lemon dew
and prayers of tilted lands afar
from deep within the heart of you
Soma
your howling pierced both sky and field.
The gleaming icecycles swung
in winter's haze,
far out of view
and I
declared and rendered bare
by your tender haunting gaze
tendered sweetly all that you held dear,
upheld with honor and respect
tenacity's dominion
to outlive love despite regret.
You of mist and evergreen
of dawn's silence kept too crisp,
You of tears I'd not forsake
by untwirling and unwinding fate,
keep with you knowledge that I dared
while yet not knowing how
to love beyond the wits of haste
to stake my spirit's vow.
